As part of the Framingham Emergency Management Agency, Auxiliary Police Officers provide assistance at the Emergency Operations Center and emergency shelters as needed, and are trained in the National Incident Management System.

As stated in the MHMP, The Plan will meet the requirements of the Federal DMA 2000, which calls for communities to have an all hazards mitigation plan in place by November 1, 2004 in order to qualify for the future pre-disaster and post-disaster funding under the Federal Emergency Management Agencys (FEMA) Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).
