Therein, the Union alleged that the employer, the Department of Correction (the Department or DOC), violated M.G.L. c. 150E, Sections 10(a)(5) and (1) by failing to provide it with certain information in connection with current and prior investigations being conducted or conducted by the Disabled PersonsProtectionCommission (the DPPC) into allegations of inmate abuse.
In or about August 2014, MCOFU learned that the Disabled PersonsProtectionCommission (DPPC) was investigating possible misconduct of correction officers at Bridgewater State Hospital, a facility operated by the Commonwealth within the DOC, and other unidentified DOC facilities, pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding reached by the DPPC and DOC.
In approximately August 2014, MCOFU learned that the Disabled PersonsProtectionCommission (DPPC), a state agency, was investigating possible misconduct by MCOFU member COs at Bridgewater State Hospital (BSH), a facility operated by the Commonwealth and within the DOC, as well as other unidentified correctional facilities. 4.
