Further answering, the Department admits that, following formal disciplinary charges brought before a State Police Trial Board, Trooper Justin Joyce was found not guilty of one charge and guilty of four others and, at that Boards recommendation and subject to Civil Service Commission review, issued a ten day suspension, ordered to forfeit twenty days of accrued time off, and transferred from his duty assignment at Troop for a period of twelve months
Additional Information: By decision of the Civil Service Commission (Case No. D-07-228, dated August 29, 2009, attached to this letter and marked Appendix A), Justin Joyces c. 31 appeal from discipline imposed by the Department of State Police, was allowed.
