The DLR does not oversee purely internal affairs of a union. Boston Police Patrolmens Association, 8 MLC 1993, MUPL-2050 and MUPL-2049 (1982). The DLR can evaluate whether the challenged action is within the legitimate domain of internal union affairs. Id. at 2000. For example, a Union was found to have violated Section 10(b)(1) of the Law by conditioning nomination and election for union officers on participation in an unlawful strike.
