The Highway Division is compromised of assets from the former Massachusetts Highway Department, the former Massachusetts Turnpike Authority, the Department ofConservationandRecreation, and the Massachusetts Port Authority. As such, former MassHighway employees became MassDOT Highway Division employees via operation of law on November 1, 2009.
