DECISION On July 31, 2024, the Appellant, Lucas Ribeiro (Appellant), pursuant to G.L. c. 31, 2(b), filed an appeal with the Civil Service Commission (Commission), contesting the decision of the Boston Police Department (BPD) to bypass him for original appointment to the position of permanent, full-time police officer.1 On September 17, 2024, a remote pre-hearing conference was held.
Since the Appellant has also filed a discrimination complaint with MCAD, the Civil ServiceCommission is dismissing this appeal until MCAD has issued a final decision on the Appellants complaint.
A pre-hearing was held on October 18, 2007 and a full hearing was held on December 5, 2007 at the offices of the Civil Service Commission. Two tapes were made of the hearing. FINDINGS OF FACT: Fourteen (14) exhibits were entered into evidence at the hearing.
