Request #22-90 (Office of the Comptroller)

Request for public records made to Office of the Comptroller.

Agency
Office of the Comptroller
Summary
I am looking for information on the amounts paid by each public college and university to the state for fringe benefits for employees. My understanding is that for state funded positions the state covers the cost of fringe (I would also be interested in those totals), but that for positions funded by tuition, fees, and other sources the campuses are required make payments to the Commonwealth for health coverage through the GIC and other benefits. I am interested in what the annual total is of those payments. If it is easy to break down how much is for employees covered by tuition and fees vs. those covered by federal and private grants that would be helpful too.If it would be helpful to discuss this, I can be reached at 617-308-4964. I appreciate any help that you can provide. Thanks,NoahNoah Berger (he/him)Director, Center for Education Policy & Practice Massachusetts Teachers Association
