SECTION 3 A bargaining unit employee must make a claim to the insurance carrier as a result of an absence within forty-eight (48) hours of injury as covered in Section 1 above and shall pay to the City any settlement received for such claim. If the claim is denied by the carrier, the City shall deduct such payment from the bargaining unit employees accumulated unused leave.

All settlements of grievances shall be consistent with the terms of this agreement. 5. A day under this Article shall be understood to mean work day. Level 1 An Administrator must file a grievance within 10 days of its occurrence with the Assistant Superintendent. Within 10 days of filing, the Assistant Superintendent must meet with the Administrator and the Association representative and make his/her decision.
