The City must make it through this crisis with at least the core services intact: public safety departments must be staffed to respond to emergency calls from residents and businesses; trash and recycle must be picked up and removed to contracted landfills and recycle centers; and the public health must be maintained.
Our goal is to implement a 3 year rotation, whereby marked patrol cruisers are recycled to less critical and demanding use within the Department after 3 years, so as to extend their lifecycles. This is cost-effective because the major components are prone to failure after 3 years of front-line patrol use.

O R G C L F FA CT S H E E T Fo r a t h r i v i n g N ew E n g l a n d Our recycling system is in trouble. Over the past 10 years, waste companies encouraged municipalities to switch to single-stream recycling while higher volumes of cheap, hard-to-recycle packaging poured into communities.
O R G Fo r C L F FA CT S H E E T a t h r i v i n g N ew E n g l a n d Recycling costs have increased tremendously over the past few years while the number of recyclables kept out of landfills has decreased. H.3289/S.2149, An Act to Expand the Bottle Bill would modernize Massachusetts current bottle bill and keep millions of bottles from being landfilled and incinerated, while reducing recycling costs for cities and towns across the Commonwealth.
Municipalities have little power over what people throw away but are responsible for its disposal or recycling. Costs have increased for disposal across these domains, but fluctuations in the recycling market in particular have drastically increased costs for municipalities, which now pay tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to provide disposal and recycling services to residents.
Common single-use items such as plastic bags, are not recyclable and typically end up in landfills and incinerators, or littered in our oceans damaging human health and the environment. H.869/S.579, An Act to Reduce Single-Use Plastics from the Environment, would ban single-use plastics, including plastic bags and single serve plastic water bottles, among many others.
Curbside collection will occur on residents' regularly scheduled trash/recycling collection days during those weeks. Residents who plan to take advantage of curbside collection should reference the requirements. Yard waste and brush not conforming to the requirements will not be collected and left at the curb.
Recycling a failed solution will only make crime problems worse. Vote by mail ballots are dropping across Miami Beach over the next few days. Everyone has the opportunity to vote NO and demand real solutions for our community. << Click here to request your mail ballot >> The deadline to request your mail ballot is Saturday, October 23. Follow our campaign on social media to learn more about why residents should vote NO on the 2 AM Alcohol Ban.
More clearly marked recycling bins around the parks and downtown area. Can parts of shoppers world have community space since businesses come and go so quickly? Ive lived in Framingham for 13 years, and since them downtown has gotten worse, the roads to my house have declined and are riddled with dips and potholes, and the city continues to not care.
