The Massachusetts Attorney GeneralsOffice (AGO) is conducting a third investigation of HLY, and also has both civil and criminal enforcement authority. The Department explains that [t]hese three pending investigations concern the operation, management, and oversight at HLY. Two of these are being conducted by entities empowered to bring both civil and criminal charges.
In addition, Chair Katseff requested an extension of time to respond to the complaint, stating, "I am (by copy of this complaint response) asking the Attorney General'soffice for a 30 calendar day extension."
Requests for the Attorney General's review of an Open Meeting Law complaint must be filed with the Attorney General'sOffice within 90 days of the alleged violation. 940 C.M.R. 29.05(7). The complaint identifies June 8 as the day of the alleged violation. Therefore, a request for further review would have been due by September 6.
