On February 18, 2019, the Union filed a charge with the Department of Labor Relations (DLR) alleging that the City of Cambridge (City) had violated Section 10(a)(5) and, derivatively, Section 10(a)(1) of M.G.L. c. 150E (the Law) by unilaterally implementing a 28-day work period for purposes of calculating overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). A DLR Investigator dismissed the charge on December 20, 2019 for lack of probable cause.
