It is perplexing, at best, as to why a charge was submitted on June 4, 2012' with the Department ofLaborRelations (DLR) only to have the same matter filed to arbitration on June 14, 2012. Certainly, any attempt at forum shopping should be avoided at this preliminary stage where the DLR may maintain jurisdiction to review the result of an anticipated arbitration decision. The potential for an uneven and confusing result should also be avoided.
Dunn and Mr.Greenspan: The Department ofLaborRelations (Department) has received, docketed and reviewed the above referenced charge. The review indicates that the Union filed a grievance(s) related to the allegations in the charge and that the allegations contained in the charge are essentially questions of contract interpretation.
