Steers requested a copy of State 911Department Public Safety Answering Point and Regional Emergency Communication Center Support and Incentive Grant Application: Fiscal Years 2019-2021. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Steers petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0582, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Town has provided a response.
In 2008 the Legislature, through emergency legislation, created the State 911Department and empowered that agency to establish regulations to provide standards governing emergency medical dispatch, and to establish 911 call handling procedures to maximize 911 proficiency and to provide enhanced public safety benefits to the citizens of the Commonwealth. These regulations can be found in 560 CMR 5.00 et seq. [Exhibit 2].

Certification from the Massachusetts State 911Department Public Safety Communications 5Weelc Academy, APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator 1 (PST!) or CJIS certification from the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board, or current State 9-1-11 CJIS certification requirements. Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration or closely related field preferred. Experience Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience.
Certification from the Massachusetts State 911Department Public Safety Communications Academy, APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator | (PST1) or CJIS certification from the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board is strongly preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish helpful.
