Section 4(f)(ii) of Chapter 58 gives the financial overseer the ability to adopt Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 32B for the purpose of obtaining health insurance from the Group insurance Commission (GIC), if the transition to the GIC would provide some cost savings to the City. In a letter dated June 17, 2010, Overseer Nunes notified the Mayor that he had determined the GIC would present significant cost savings.
