In March 2007, the Union filed a representation petition seeking to represent among others, the Town employees at issue in this matter. and AFSCME, bargaining Council 93, MCR-07-5276 units and direction See, Town of South Hadley (Dec. 23, 2008) (decision regarding appropriate of election). After additional litigation over the Towns objections, an election was held and Unit A and Unit B were certified by the Department of Labor Relations.
Prior to March 2007, the Town of South Hadley employees at issue in this case, were non-union employees and their wages, hours, and working conditions were entirely controlled by the Town of South Hadley. In March 2007, the Union filed a representation petition seeking to represent among others, the Town employees at issue in this matter.
