MUP-20-7883 For approximately a year and a half prior to Caissies separation from employment, plow trucks and other vehicles blocked his and other recycling trucks. The parking area outside of the DPW building is narrow, with few parking spots, and there are a lot of blind spots.
The charging party, Michael Caissie, was terminated from his position as recycling driver for the Department of Public Works for the Town of Natick after he voiced frustration to his supervisor, Tom Hladick, at how his and fellow co-workers? recycling trucks were repeatedly blocked in by other DPW trucks | and unable to leave on time for their shifts. This was a repeated occurrence during his last year of employment. On December 3, 2019, Mr.

Following our review, we find that the Board violated the Open Meeting Law where the notice contained insufficient specificity with regard to the recycling abatements and the Veterans and Burial agent appointment. We find that the Board did not violate the Open Meeting Law in the other way alleged.

Since their first use in 1977, plastic shopping bags have spread across the world, and U.S. consumption alone is roughly 100 billion bags a year.1 After an average use of 12 minutes, most plastic shopping bags are disposed or released into the environment, while less than 1% are recycled. In landfills, plastic bags take millennia to decompose.
Globally, about 1 million plastic shopping bags are distributed per minute, yet only 1% are recycled. But good substitutes are readily available! Countless whales, sea turtles, and birds suffer slow, painful deaths and injuries from plastic bag pollution when they mistake the bags for food or get entangled.

For example, Stop and Shop had provided its customers with a 3 mil plastic bag but has since gone to all paper bags with recyclable specifications as defined in the by law. We believe Stop and Shop switched to paper because customers were not reusing the bags and were in fact using them a single use. The bags probably cost them more than expected?
Framingham Intermodal has double BigBelly units, which include both regular waste and recycling. The separated recycle bin helps keep recyclables out of the landfills. They each have a capacity of 258 pounds and are solar power operated.

There are forms of plastic that have been made into recycled bags that are reusable that are not single-film. If the bigger cities ban all single-film plastic, the state may be more inclined to follow suit on a state-wide basis. Mr. DeMeo asked if charging for the bags would really motive people to use reusable bags and thereby reduce their trash. Mr.
