Good Afternoon, I am performing an Environmental Site Assessment of the property located at 14 Hope Street (The Recorder building). This assessment includes a review of municipal records for the property, in order to determine past use of a property, as well as the current or historic presence of any environmental concerns (i.e. hazardous material permits, violations or releases, bulk above or underground tanks for petroleum or other hazardous materials, operations that would be of concern such as vehicle servicing or dry cleaning). To this end, I would please like to review the following types of files:
Assessor: current/past field cards and parcel maps
Building/Engineering/Planning: Permit records, engineered plans showing drainage (specifically interior floor drains), tank records, etc.
Board of Health/Conservation Commission: Environmental permits/violations, drinking water well information, septic tank information
Clerk: Underground storage tank records (it is known that 4 tanks were removed from this property in 1989; given that the files are sorted by year, if you could please just check 1958, 1968, 1978, and 1988 if feasible).
It is noted that this parcel formerly supported two additional structures: a residential dwelling (22 Hope Street) and a multi-tenant storefront (12, 14, 16, and 18 Hope Street). The dwelling dates from pre-1900 through ca.1965, and the shops date from 1909 to ca.1965. I would be interested in any available records for these structures as well, if the available records date that far back.
Thank you very much, and please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions
Abby
