Summary

Under the Massachusetts Public Records Law, SOURCE media is seeking a list of all COVID fines issued to businesses in the City of Framingham for the month of February 2021. The media outlet from a previous FOIA requests knows that this is kept in a spreadsheet, and is requesting the same spreadsheet provide in December 2020, for the new dates. Please make sure to include the part of the spreadsheet on if the fine has been paid. SOURCE media filed the same request for the Month of January 2021 on February 1, 2021, and is still awaiting that data. It is past the 10 business days, which the law allows, and the media outlet has filed an appeal with the state. As a representative of the news media, SOURCE requests a waiver of all fees for this request.  Disclosure of the requested information to the news outlet is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations or activities of the government during this pandemic.  The Public Records Law requires you to provide me with a written response within 10 business days.  If you cannot comply with my request, you are statutorily required to provide an explanation in writing. The Health Department has attached all the documents regarding this request. Pursuant to MGL Chapter 4 Section 7 Clause 26 (C) I have redacted the applicants home address, city, state, zip code, email address and telephone number. The reason being is the sited statue says in part “…information, also any other materials or data relating to a specifically named individual, the disclosure of which may constitute and unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.” Those things redacted fit into this category.
